Kicking a nicotine habit is a common New Year's Resolution, but on 2016's first night, it's gonna be all about the smoke break.

Carrie Underwood, whose fifth album, Storyteller, was released last week, will headline the upcoming Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest in New York City, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Underwood will perform a handful of her hits, while Fergie and Jenny McCarthy will check in with crowds at the Billboard Hollywood Party and Times Square, respectively.

More performances will be announced at a later date, the site adds.

Event host Ryan Seacrest, who announced Underwood as American Idol's fourth winner a decade ago, seems confident she's more than capable of handling the honor.

"If there’s one girl who will make sure our clock don’t stop on new year's eve, it’s ;)" he tweeted after the announcement was made.

So what can you expect from Carrie? Well, if her "Smoke Break" performance from last night's (October 27) Jimmy Kimmel Live! is any indication: some guitar strumming, perhaps a fringed mini dress and, of course, a voice that's been a staple of country music for the past 10 years.

Check out the performance, and be sure to ring in 2016 with Carrie on New Year's Eve starting at 8 PM EST on ABC!
