Cee Lo Green takes on VH1's 'Storytellers' this weekend and offers a cover of the 1978 Bill Withers R&B classic 'Lovely Day.'

Wearing a rhinestone-studded t-shirt and sparkly glasses, Green invites the audience to stand as the funky bassline opens the song. He cuts out a verse but otherwise changes little about the well-known soul song.

Green's decision to include such a prominent cover on 'Storytellers' seems a little unusual, since the show is supposed to be about the stories behind the artist's own songs.

But, let's face it, no one is going to tell Cee Lo what to do. And he really nails it, hitting all the long notes and high notes in a manner sure to impress his proteges and fellow judges on 'The Voice.' He even shows off by looking at his watch while holding one long note.

We can't wait to see what else Cee Lo has in store. You can bet 'Forget You' will be on the set list, and possibly some Gnarls Barkley favorites. The show premieres tonight at 11PM.
