On Friday, Aug. 29, artist Cee Lo Green pleaded no contest to a felony charge that he slipped ecstasy to a woman he was dating in 2012.

The New York Daily News writes that with his plea deal, Green will escape jail time but will be on probation for three years and is ordered to serve 360 hours of community service for the felony conviction. He must also get therapy for substance abuse and register as a narcotics offender.

"I plead no contest where I maintain my innocence," Green said in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The victim in the case alleged that Green slipped ecstasy to her while on a date in 2012, which led to her being unconscious. When she regained conscious, she says she woke up naked in a hotel room with Green.

Green's lawyer, Blair Berk, claims that the interaction between Green and the victim was "consensual."

Prosecutors opted to not purse felony sexual assault charges.
