Coldplay Perform ‘Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall’ on ‘Ellen’

Chris Martin and the boys from Coldplay are out in force to promote their new album, 'Mylo Xyloto' -- and that means making the talk show rounds to play some new music and do a little gabbing.

The band showed up for a bit of both on 'Ellen' yesterday, performing their hit single 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall' as well as taking part in a little of Ellen's customary horsing around with her guests. The best of both worlds, in other words.

Flashing some of his trademark self-deprecating humor, Martin joked that his wife Gwyneth Paltrow has "been a great beard for me." Martin and guitarist Johnny Buckland also talked about the band's secret "fifth member" Phil -- a.k.a. manager Phil Harvey. Sadly, nothing they said made the new album title any less silly, but you can't have everything, right?
