Original ‘Hamilton’ Cast Members to Reunite for Super Bowl 2017 Performance
The original cast members of Hamilton have mostly parted ways with the hit Broadway show in an attempt to branch out, career-wise. But come Super Bowl Sunday, at least three of them will reunite for a special, televised performance.
Phillipa Soo, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Jasmine Cephas Jones (who originated the roles of Eliza, Angelica and Peggy Schuyler, respectively) will perform “America the Beautiful” together during the televised pregame show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The former Schuyler sisters are in good company. Per The Hollywood Reporter, “America the Beautiful” has been performed in the past by big names like Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, Ray Charles, Lea Michele, Faith Hill and many more.
And to round out what’s turning out to be an eclectic Super Bowl, Luke Bryan is slated to sing the game’s National Anthem while Lady Gaga will perform during the coveted halftime slot.
Tune in to Fox on Sunday, February 5, to see the performances.
