With ‘MMMBop’ at the height of its popularity, the Hanson brothers appeared on 'SNL' in 1997 as the musical guest and got to make fun of their hit song in a sketch.

Angry at the amount of radio airplay ‘MMMBop’ had received, Will Ferrell and host Helen Hunt cornered Isaac, Taylor and Zac at gunpoint in an elevator. As Ferrell and Hunt put on earplugs, Ferrell began playing 'MMMBop' on a loop and explained, “You will now listen to the song for as long as it takes to feel the pain that we felt this past summer.” After hours of hearing their song on repeat, Zac and Isaac finally went insane, but Taylor kept his cool and eventually won over Ferrell, which had tragic consequences.
