‘Harry Potter’ Star Evanna Lynch (a.k.a. Luna Lovegood) Casts a Spell During ‘DWTS’ Debut (WATCH)
The Season 27 premiere of Dancing With the Stars was extra magical Monday night (September 24), thanks in part to the enchanting dance floor stylings of a particular Harry Potter star.
Irish actress Evanna Lynch, known for playing quirky young witch Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter film series, made her DWTS debut in Los Angeles last night.
Paired up with dance pro Keo Motsepe, the 27-year-old star performed an upbeat foxtrot set to—what else?—"Do You Believe in Magic," giving the Yule Ball a run for its money.
The duo earned a decent score of 18 out of 30 points, with judge Bruno Tonioli critiquing Lynch's hand technique.
"Be very careful with your free hands," he advised her. "There always has to be energy — just like when you're casting a spell!"
Watch their performance, below:
DWTS isn't Lynch's first brush with the dancing bug, however.
"I actually wanted to go to dance college," Lynch revealed in a vignette before performing. "But I got rejected from three different schools. They were like, 'No, you're not made for this.'" (Luckily for Potterheads, Lynch got a Hogwarts letter instead.)
