On tonight's (July 12) episode of 'Duets,' the remaining amateurs performed twice -- once with their superstar and once solo. Jennifer Nettles, who still has two horses in this race, performed 'The Prayer' by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion with her "other" amateur partner John Glosson. For his solo song, Glosson tackled 'Bless the Broken Road' by country trio Rascal Flatts.

Nettles admitted that the vocal range is ridiculous on 'The Prayer,' but she and Glosson went bilingual with this adult contemporary number. That's the type of artist that Glosson aspires to be, so he chose wisely. To borrow a phrase from a host of reality singing show judges, he could sing the phone book and make that sound good. He has a gorgeous voice and might be the most technically proficient singer to grace the stage this season.

When he soloed on the heartfelt balled 'Bless the Broken Road,' Glosson injected his song with all the passion and vocal power he could muster, as if he yanked it from the very depths of his soul. He sings so prettily. He definitely has a career in A.C. music once the show winds down, but we're not sure that he will fully win America's voting public over and take the crown next week, simply because J. Rome has such mass, mainstream appeal with his style.
