Jeremy Sisto could have been Jack Dawson. While we've marveled at the thought that the Clueless actor was almost 1997 Leonardo DiCaprio ever since we saw him in the role in a Titanic screen test, the scruffy star is now speaking out about losing the part to good ol' Leo.

"That was one of the many, many jobs I didn't get," the actor told the Huffington Post, laughing.

"It's always fun to see a movie that you know really well and love with this alternate universe person in there. So while I was a little embarrassed to reveal one of my many failures in life, at the same time I couldn't deprive Titanic lovers of seeing that alternate universe," he explained.

While he was the lucky lad to read for the part of Jack in Kate Winslet's first screen test (check out the video above!), Jeremy Sisto revealed that he also read for the part with three different women who were auditioning for Rose. And yes, the actor — who went on to grab starring roles in Waitress and his current TV show, The Returned — is still a little bit bummed about the role that got away.

"It was a pretty great experience. To be involved in something that had that kind of scope — anything James Cameron does has this huge scope to it. He's trying to push the limits on things," he recalled. "So I was just insanely inspired by it and a little heartbroken when the role didn't come my way."

And who can blame him?
