Since delivering daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson on May 1, Jessica Simpson has been determined to shed the baby weight. Because she had a C-section, though, she was on doctor's orders to not work out for at least six weeks, and Weight Watchers even stepped in to help her reach her goal. But now she's at a bit of a standstill.

She's so emotional," a friend said about the new mom. "She doesn't want to go to the gym." A magazine seconds the friend's account. "She doesn't want to leave her baby. Sometimes she just starts crying," reported In Touch magazine. "It's hard for her."

Shedding the baby weight isn't necessarily the easiest thing for new moms to do, and considering she and fiance Eric Johnson are consumed with baby Maxwell and busy spoiling her, it's no surprise she's struggling a bit. "I absolutely love my family," tweeted Simpson. "Maxwell amazes Eric and I every day with every little thing she does!"

And despite the amazement over her new baby, she's determined to the best mom she can baby to her daughter. "Jessica wants to set a good example for Maxi," said a source. "She wants to teach her daughter to have a healthy lifestyle."
