As if Katie Hopkins' insensitive tweets about Kelly Clarkson's weight weren't enough, the British journalist has made even more insensitive comments about the singer's appearance.

Refresher: Katie began by tweeting "Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers?"

She didn't stop there, either. Her response to the criticism that no one should fat shame anyone, let alone a woman who recently gave birth? "Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves."

Katie appeared on Access Hollywood to defend her comments about the singer's weight.

"Ultimately, Kelly Clarkson is a chunky monkey. We can call it 'baby weight,' we can call it 'puppy fat,' we can call it 'love handles,' we can call it 'muffin top,' any of the nice and kind of soft and cuddly names we give it, but ultimately it's fat. She's fat. She needs to get out, eat less and move more," she said.

Aside from the fact that what Kelly, a woman she doesn't know, does is none of Katie's business, the comments were simply mean-spiritied. For her part, Kelly responded with exceptional grace and class when Heat asked how Katie's initial comments affected her.

"I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will. I've just never cared what people think. It's more if I'm happy and I'm confident and feeling good, that's always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family — I don't seek out any other acceptance," Kelly said.

Kelly, we applaud you for being talented, beautiful and most of all, for taking the high road in all of this.
