No. 8: ‘Paparazzi’

This song made our list for so many reasons: The catchy tune, the bizarrely entertaining video, the bluntly honest lyrics about "media whoring"... There are so many reasons to love this song.

For us, part of it is that we love hearing Gaga strike back at the paparazzi while simultaneously embracing them. Listening to this song shows you that Gaga realizes the power of her own celebrity.

The video follows Gaga as a huge star under the lurking eye of the dreaded and ominous paparazzi. But on the contrary, the sing-along is written from a number of perspectives, namely from the eyes of an obsessed photographer or fan. "We are the crowd, we're c-comin' out / Got my flash on, it's true / Need that picture of you," Gaga sings in the first verse.
