No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Lupe Fiasco's cover art for his upcoming album 'Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1' is totally black. Pitch black. WTH?

The black artwork doesn't feature the artist's name nor the album's title. This could pose a problem for retail stores with how they would stock the album, especially since there's no typography on it. But we have to assume that Fiasco and Atlantic Records figured that part out before moving forward with an all-black cover.

Nevertheless, the Chicago rapper is continuing to raise eyebrows about his new project. From his provocative video for 'B---- Bad' to his all-black-everything artwork, Fiasco is making bold statements both musically and visually. According to MTV News, the last artist to release a totally black album cover was Metallica with their 1991 self-titled album (aka 'The Black Album'), albeit with an image of a coiled-up cobra at the bottom right.

Lupe Fiasco's 'Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1' will hit stores on Sept. 25. The collection boasts several previous released singles including 'Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free),' 'Lamborghini Angels,' 'Battle Scars' and 'B---- Bad."
