Maddie Ziegler will lend her dance expertise to young hopefuls in the upcoming season of So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.

Ziegler joins fellow judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo on the show, where she'll offer advice and criticism to the competition's contestants, according to an official statement from Fox.

So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation is being billed as a more youthful alternative to the show’s original incarnation. Contestants will skew significantly younger, ranging in age from 8–13, and will focus on their skills in various dance styles ranging wildly across the board: Contemporary, tap, hip-hop and ballroom are just a few genres the show will cover.

Perhaps best known for her appearances in various Sia music videos (as her alter ego) and live performances, Ziegler first gained notoriety for her stint on the Lifetime reality show Dance Moms. She won’t be returning to the show following its Season 6 end, however, as Ziegler intends to focus on her budding acting career.

Since 2012 she’s had a number of small television roles, including a part on Pretty Little Liars last year, and she’s set to make her big screen debut when The Book of Henry is released later this year. In it, she stars opposite Naomi Watts and Room actor Jacob Tremblay.

So You Think You can Dance: The Next Generation is currently auditioning talent for the upcoming season before its premiere date on May 30. You can check out further information over on the official Fox website.
