Nakia, a one-named singer from Austin, Texas, took a big chance by being the first contestant to sing one of the coaches' songs for his blind audition on 'The Voice.'

The bushy-bearded 36-year-old performer knew he was risking a lot by performing Cee Lo Green's 'Forget You,' but he said it was all part of his strategy to achieve his ultimate dream. "I want to win 'The Voice' so bad," confessed Nakia. "I close my eyes, I see that goal and that's all that I think about."

Nakia's gamble paid off, as the first coach to turn around in approval was none other than Cee Lo. "I had to turn around to see who this brave individual was," explained Cee Lo. "Of course, you have great taste in music." Country crooner Blake Shelton tried to persuade Nakia to join his team, but the grizzly singer couldn't help but choose Cee Lo as his coach.

"It took huge balls to sing my song in front of me," said Cee Lo afterward. "But I think he did a cool job."
