Nicki Minaj has come a long way since her mixtape days, when she was a straightforward hip-hop artist releasing songs like 'Itty Bitty Piggy.'

Now, she's embracing electro and dance and releasing pop tracks in which she sings, like 'Pound the Alarm' and 'Starships.'

RedOne, who produced both songs, said he was excited to see the rapper expand her sound on the 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' album: "I'm happy with this step that she did, and the world is loving her. She's still Nicki Minaj, she's hardcore, she's everything."

Minaj also stepped into the EDM world with her collaborations with David Guetta, 'Turn Me On' and 'Where Them Girls At.' If there's one thing we can predict about Nicki Minaj based on her short time in the spotlight so far, it's that she will continue to reinvent herself as time goes on.
