Photographer Amy Harris has formally pressed charges against Odd Future rapper Left Brain for the incident at the Voodoo Festival last week in which he allegedly slapped her as he tried to usher photogs out of the pit area.

Harris confirmed filing the police report on her blog, calling it "something I needed to do" but declining to discuss the incident any further and directing inquiries to her attorney. The simple battery charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

As we reported last week, Left Brain was upset that the photographers' pit at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans left Odd Future several feet from their fans. The OFWKTA member then took a swipe at the media guests, allegedly hitting Harris' face and her camera, which was not damaged.

Harris initially wrote on her blog that she did not press charges immediately because she expected that an apology would be forthcoming. Instead, Odd Future issued a statement declaring that Left Brain never hit Harris, and, according to Venues Today, Left Brain posted a since-deleted Tumblr rant in which he declared, "It is my job to slap cameras out of the way."

Harris then wrote on her blog, "The unexpected turn of events, including an attack by Odd Future on my credibility and motives for discussing the incident, have caused me to re-evaluate my initial decision (not to file charges)."
