Pia Toscano sang the lyrics "tears are in your eyes" when she performed the Pretenders' classic 'I'll Stand by You' on tonight's 'Dancing With the Stars,' but we didn't see any water streaming down her cheeks.

In fact, Toscano delivered a soulful and beautiful snippet of the song -- the same one she sang when she was voted off of 'American Idol' -- and remained humble when she spoke about the whole endeavor. "Everything happens for a reason. I'm in a good place now, so it's all good," she said.

As for whether or not she's dating 'DWTS' contestant Mark Ballas as rumored? "He's a wonderful person," Toscano spilled -- though she refused to admit whether he's a good kisser.

Toscano was given the ol' 'Idol' boot three weeks ago, but from the looks of it, she's had no trouble bouncing back, and is even getting her musical career off the ground with a running start. In addition to this big appearance, the 22-year-old New Yorker has a debut record in the works with Interscope Records … or at least she will, as soon as she can get 'Idol' to cut her loose of the contract she signed.
