Robyn – Synthpop + EDM Reinvention

Robyn's comeback is one of the great underdog stories in pop music this millennium. Discarded by her label and largely forgotten in the U.S. after a couple of dance-pop Top 10 hits in 1997, the Swedish singer scratched her way back with a more overt synthpop sound to become a superstar once again.

Robyn started earning acclaim from unlikely sources (like critics and music bloggers) after her independently-released, self-titled 2005 album dropped, which was influenced by electronic dance music.

Robyn's comeback was solidified with her 'Body Talk' album series and its singles 'Dancing On My Own' and 'Call Your Girlfriend.' Though she's no longer a platinum artist, Robyn has rebuilt a devoted fan base, achieved critical praise, and earned multiple Grammy nominations and A-list appearances like 'Saturday Night Live.'
