Singer-songwriter Sarah Jaffe has put a folk twist on Robyn's electropop single 'Hang With Me' for Billboard's Mashup Mondays series.

"I do play folk music but I am actually really drawn to electronica," the 25-year-old Texas native says of choosing the Swedish pop star's song for her mashup. "In electronica, there are really dark lyrics buried underneath the heavy beats."

Robyn's original incorporates an upbeat dance track, and was the lead single from the singer's 2010 mini album, 'Body Talk Pt 2,' as well as the full-length, 'Body Talk.'

"There were a lot of favorites [from Robyn's "Body Talk" series] that rotated" Jaffe adds. "But 'Hang With Me' just kind of stuck. I just love that song. The chorus in particular, the way I heard it, I thought it could make a really sweet and kind of sad folk song. The chords are easy and I like really simple chords that allow the vocal melody to carry the song."

Jaffe is currently on the road with Centro-Matic through July 10. Robyn is slated as the opening act for Katy Perry's California Dreams tour, which traverses North American through Sept. 17.
