Shocking! Man Steals Cop Car While Officer Is Still in Passenger Seat [Watch]
Is it just us, or do things seem crazier lately?
This story will really shock you: A man in Connecticut did the unthinkable when he made the poor decision to steal one of the most traceable vehicles on the road – a police car. Worse, it wasn't empty. The officer was in the passenger seat!
It happened in New Haven, Ct., and was captured on camera for us all to see, thanks to Inside Edition.
The suspect is seen walking up to the police car, which is parked outside of the police station. He opens the door – the vehicle is running – and yells at the officer who's in the car filling out paperwork to get out.
When the officer goes to exit the car to confront the suspect, the suspect gets into the driver's seat, so the officer decides to get back inside, as a passenger.
Extremely alert to what's happening, the officer waits for the suspect to accelerate, then grabs the wheel and turns the car directly into the closest building, which happened to be a church.
Another officer is seen running out of the police station, gun drawn, and takes the suspect into custody.
