2013 SXSW Must-See Artists

The 2013 SXSW festival (South by Southwest) is already underway in Austin, Texas, with the live concert portion of the event set to run from March 12-17. SXSW typically puts the spotlight on lesser-known acts, giving attendees a chance to see tomorrow’s superstars before they hit it big.

From Tom Odell to Kendrick Lamar to Paramore, our picks for the must-see SXSW artists include promising newcomers, young artists about to explode into the mainstream, and a couple of veteran rock bands returning from hiatus.

With hundreds of bands playing at the festival, cutting down the list to just 10 must-see artists was a challenge, and we had to leave off stars like the Crystal Method, Sky Ferreira, Tegan and Sara, Talib Kweli, Vampire Weekend, and many more.
