T.I. is expected to be released from prison on Sept. 29, and with freedom just three months away, the rapper has written an update to his fans on his website, promising a new track in a "couple weeks tops."

"What up world? Been a minute," the 30-year-old wrote on June 10. "I’d like to thank you all for the thousands of letters, cards, books, pictures and words of encouragement. I’m truly grateful. I’m sure you already know I’m nearing the end of this chapter of my life, and looking forward to taking all of the things I’ve learned with me while leaving all the rest of the 'BS' behind."

The Atlanta native went on to talk about how difficult it has been to be "on the outside looking in" and not being able to do what he loves. "It’s like a whole other sentence within itself," he said. "But I really do appreciate all the love, respect, shout outs and salutations during this very difficult period in my life."

T.I. thanked friends like Lil Wayne, B.o.B and Nelly, among others, for their support, and said he's found a wealth of inspiration that "will soon be felt by all." The rapper also promised fans a new song, which will be released shortly. "As a matter of fact, to show my appreciation to those that have been in support of me and granted the requests of TEAM T.I. I’ll be releasing a record in the near future (couple of weeks tops) to hold y’all over til I get back in action."

The King continued to talk about his lifestyle changes and intentions to conquer his imperfections. He ended the note with another thank you to his fans and supporters, adding, "My campaign will continue!!! Stronger, smarter, bigger and better than ever. For those that doubt that ... See me when they free me."
