Maniacal rapper Tyler, the Creator is known for his outrageous stage performances but his latest stunt takes the cake. During an Odd Future show in New York on Wednesday (Oct. 19), Tyler decided he wanted to meet his fans up close and personal.

The latest installment of MTV's 'When I Was 17' series features rapper Tyler, the Creator, who at 20 only has to think back three years to recall what life was like at that age.

While his boys from Odd Future were ecstatic over his Best New Artist Moonman, many people are disappointed that Tyler, the Creator was awarded the trophy at the MTV Video Music Awards this year. With offensive, curse-laden lyrics that have been labeled as misogynistic, violent, and homophobic, it's obvious why groups like GLAAD are condemning MTV for honoring the rapper.

Tyler, The Creator is not retracting his hateful comments towards singer Bruno Mars. But he did soften a wee bit after watching Mars perform at the VMAs.

Odd Future leader Tyler the Creator won Best New Artist at the 2011 MTV Music Video Awards tonight. He then took serious aim at the "most profanities" trophy as well, keeping the already busy soul in charge of the swear button on their toes throughout his acceptance speech.
