Tyler, The Creator After VMA Win: ‘F— I Hate Bruno Mars’
Tyler, The Creator is not retracting his hateful comments towards singer Bruno Mars. But he did soften a wee bit after watching Mars perform at the VMAs.
Here's a little back story: On the black carpet, before the VMAs, the member of the Odd Future rap collective said that if Mars beat him for Video of the Year that "I might kill myself." He also said in the song 'Yonkers' that he wants to "stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus."
Mars responded to that lyrical diss in SPIN, saying, "[Tyler] has to wait in line if he wants to stab me. [Tyler's] definitely not the first guy that's said something like that to me and he's not going to be the last."
However, Tyler, The Creator did change his tune -- slightly -- via Twitter after Mars' tribute to Amy Winehouse, posting: "F--- I Hate Bruno But That Was Really Good." Hey, at least Tyler can put his personal opinion aside to celebrate what was an amazing and touching tribute to the late singer.
Tyler also told the Boombox that "I say f--- that dude's music. He put on a good performance but I hate his music."
Mars went home without any Moonman statues, while Tyler nabbed the Best New Artist crown at the VMAs.
Mars is not the only Tyler, The Creator target. He also has engaged in verbal battles with B.o.B, whom he also disses in 'Yonkers.'
