Cheryl Cole was officially fired from 'X Factor' in June, but it looks like she's back on her feet. The singer has landed a role alongside Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming comedy 'What to Expect When You’re Expecting.'

According to the Daily Mail, the cameo won't be too much of a stretch for the British pop star. Cole will play a talent show judge in the movie, in which Diaz’s character enters a singing competition.

"This is a bit of fun for Cheryl," an insider says. "She will film the scenes imminently and is really looking forward to it. It doesn’t mean she suddenly wants to become an actress. It was just an opportunity that has come up and she thought it would be great fun to take part."

Cole was a popular judge on the British version of 'X Factor' when Simon Cowell recruited her for the US version of the show. However, she was allegedly replaced by Nicole Scherzinger because she didn’t click with Paula Abdul and her accent was too thick for American audiences to understand.

Cole insists that she's "absolutely fine" now and is reportedly working on her third studio album. 'What to Expect When You’re Expecting' is currently in production and also stars Brooklyn Decker, Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick and Rob Huebel. The film is slated to hit theaters nationwide on May 11, 2012.
