Selena Gomez to Begin Filming ‘Spring Breakers,’ Tweets Photos With Costar

Selena Gomez's edgy new flick, 'Spring Breakers,' begin filming in Sarasota, Florida next week. It looks like she and her costars are having an amazing time!

Gomez and costar and BFF Ashley Benson took to Twitter to post shots of their fun shoot and downtime. Benson posted a shot of her and Gomez on motorized scooters. Sel sports aviators, a playful 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' t-shirt and denim jumper, making a goofy face at the camera. Meanwhile, Gomez tweeted a shot of the duo at Cracker Barrel goofing off over a meal.

Gomez is both stoked and shaken about the role in the Harmony Korine flick, which also stars fellow Disney alum Vanessa Hudgens and Oscar nominee James Franco. “I’m nervous,” Gomez admitted. “It’s a little edgy, but it’s fun. I fought for that role. I flew to Nashville and told him I want be a part of it.”

Sel’s squeaky clean image is part of what won her the part of Faith, the goody-goody of the bad gal bunch she rolls with. ”She’s the little more tamed down character but also still gets a little crazy here and there,” Gomez revealed. “She goes on spring break with her girlfriends and they end up getting into a whole mess of things. They’re partying and drinking. We end up in jail.” Sounds like a good time to us!

Gomez is dedicating a lot of time and hard work to the movie. “My band and I are going our separate ways for a while," she said on Facebook. "This year is all about films and acting and I want my band to play music wherever with whoever. We will be back but, it will be a good while. I love them and I love you guys.” She'll also contribute her sweet voice to 'Hotel Transylvania,' a part she nabbed when Miley Cyrus withdrew from the project.

We're glad to see her keeping busy! If she keeps it up, next year she may be accepting an Oscar instead of just hitting the parties.
