With the release of Selena Gomez's emotional 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' music video, the tearful closeup shots couldn't help but remind us of Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' vid. Whose tearful music video do you like better?

Selena Gomez revealed that the heart-wrenching 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' is about her on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber, which, quite honestly, makes her tears even more heartbreaking. Selena explained that her heartfelt monologue at the beginning of the vid is a real conversation that she had with herself in the mirror, which makes us admire her candor even more: She's raw, real and, overall, incredibly brave for sharing such deep feelings with the world.

Though many people assumed that Miley Cyrus' tears in 'Wrecking Ball' were inspired by the end of her engagement to Liam Hemsworth, she actually revealed that they were brought on by thinking of the death of her dog Lila. Though the subject matter was different than what made Selena cry in her video, there's no doubt that Miley's tears are just as genuine and raw.
