For tonight's (July 19) season finale of the first season of 'Duets,' superstar Kelly Clarkson and her amateur charge Jason Farol performed together for the final time, choosing to torch it up with their fiery rendition of Elvis Presley's classic 'Heartbreak Hotel.' My what a difference a season (which is really just a few weeks, since that's how long the show has been on) makes. Farol went from a shy, unsure-of-himself performer with a great voice to a confident heartthrob with swagger, thanks in no small part to the unwavering support of his singing partner.
On tonight's (July 12) episode of 'Duets,' each remaining contestant sang a duet with their superstar mentor and a solo song. They were allowed to pick each song they performed. For his duet with Kelly Clarkson, amateur Jason Farol chose 'Me and Mrs. Jones,' a bluesy, torchy ballad about infidelity. For his solo song, he tackled 'Runaway Baby' by Bruno Mars.
On tonight's (July 5) episode of 'Duets,' the superstars and amateurs were asked to sing standards. The walking wounded Kelly Clarkson, who has a hairline fracture in her foot, selected 'Feelin' Good,' popularized by jazz singer Nina Simone, for her duet with Jason Farol.
Tonight's (June 28) live performance episode of 'Duets' featured the superstars and their amateur partners singing songs of the new millennium -- aka the past decade! Kelly Clarkson and her partner Jason Farol got down with Duffy's neo-soul jam 'Mercy,' which is also now a neo-classic, since it's covered on these reality singing shows quite a bit.
Movie week didn’t have a happy ending for Kelly Clarkson and at least one of her duet partners on ‘Duets’ tonight. After performances of 'Take My Breath Away' from 'Top Gun' and 'Come What May' from 'Moulin Rouge,' Clarkson's partners were the bottom two on the show’s chart and had to sing for their lives in the showdown.
On tonight's (June 13) episode of 'Duets,' the superstars and amateurs sang party songs. Kelly Clarkson and consistent bottom dweller Jason Farol roared through the Rolling Stones' '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction,' while she and Jordan Meredith tore it up with Joan Jett's anthemic 'I Love Rock N' Roll.'
Kelly Clarkson's team is struggling on 'Duets.' Both of her teammates -- Jason Farol and Jordan Meredith -- often land in the bottom of the judge's voting. On tonight's episode (June 7), which will feature the very first elimination of the brand new series, Clarkson and Farol teamed up with Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah.'
At the end of the first ‘Duets’ show, both of Kelly Clarkson’s duet partners were both at the bottom of the scoreboard. Her young partner with a grown voice, Jason Farol, ended the night in a disappointing 8th place. Clarkson was sure she could help him do better this week.
