'American Idol' alum, the fabulously flashy Adam Lambert made his triumphant and grand return to the 'Idol' stage tonight, performing an acoustic version of his song 'Aftermath.'

Lambert is known for his thick eyeliner and flamboyant, gender-bending style, but much like his mellow, ultra-relaxed performance tonight, his look was stripped down and bare. It was an effective strategy, because Lambert's voice was able to take center stage, literally. Toned down really suits Lambert; he should try it more often, without abandoning his signature pizazz and panache.

Post performance, Jennifer Lopez playfully challenged Lambert to "Dougie," the dance craze started by Cali Swag District, from her judge's chair. Both Lopez and Lambert shook their shoulders a bit in "Dougie" style.

Also, a remix of 'Aftermath,' crafted by Billboard, is available here. Proceeds from the song will benefit The Trevor Project, which is the leading national organization focused on crisis intervention and suicide prevention among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.
