Amber Heard's request for a restraining order against her estranged husband Johnny Depp has been temporarily granted amid allegations of domestic violence, a Los Angeles Superior Court spokesperson told Variety on May 27.

Appearing in court on Friday morning with a bruise on her cheekbone as well as a black eye, the actress claimed that Depp physically assaulted her using an iPhone on Saturday May 21. Photos were submitted by her attorney as evidence that the actor repeatedly abused Heard throughout their marriage, and it is believed that she also holds a video recording of Depp attacking her.

"During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me," Heard reportedly wrote in a sworn declaration. "I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry, hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him... I live in fear that Johnny will return to (our house) unannounced to terrorize me, physically and emotionally."

Reportedly, the actress also accused the Alice Through the Looking Glass star of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the altercation on May 21, and that the incident wasn't the first time the actor became inebriated and abusive towards Heard.

The restraining order was granted less than a week after Heard filed for divorce. A full hearing will be conducted on June 17.
