Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has really dedicated himself to preserving his daughter's memory in the wake of her July 23 death at age of 27 from causes that are still undetermined. In addition to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, Mitch will write a memoir about his late daughter, dubbed 'Amy, My Daughter.'

HarperCollins will publish the book next summer, with Mitch donating all the profits to the Amy Winehouse Foundations, reports NME. The bereft father hopes that penning the book will help him to deal with his grief and be a therapeutic process for him! Given all that Mitch is dealing with, putting together a memoir about a daughter he lost too soon should certainly help with the mourning and closure processes.

He said, "I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery. I also want to raise as much money as possible for Amy's foundation, so all proceeds from the book will go directly to help children who are disadvantaged through illness and substance addiction."

Mitch also said that "I believe that through Amy's music, her foundation, and this book, her name will live forever." He really is doing a terrific and noble job of helping others while dealing with his own pain, and protecting his daughter's memory from being soiled by sensationalistic focus on her drug addiction. There were many layers to Amy Winehouse, which Mitch is certainly dedicated to showcasing.

We can't wait to read his account of life as Amy Winehouse's dad. We're sure it'll be touching and emotionally resonant, and present another side of the 'Rehab' singer.
