Avril Lavigne Laughs Off Rehab Rumors

Avril Lavigne has been somewhat silent about the undisclosed health issues that she revealed to fans in mid-December. But the 30-year-old Canadian pop star took to her Twitter account to set the record straight about a rumor that she is in rehab:

GossipCop reports that Avril was referencing an article in Star magazine which suggested that she was being treated for depression and substance abuse issues.

It still remains unclear what she is suffering from, as the 'Sk8ter Boi' singer has not made any public appearances since her Tokyo concert in August. After asking fans to pray for her, thousands of fans sent Lavigne support via social media, a gesture that seemingly touched her.

"Thank you to all the fans for the sweet get well messages and all the tweets," she wrote to fans. "I appreciate the lovely notes and well wishes from everyone."
