See Avril Lavigne’s Style Evolution Through the Years

Avril Lavigne turns 29 today (Sept. 27). We've enjoyed watching her evolve and grow as both an artist and a fashionista through the years.

She's maintained her punk rock, yet femme and always edgy style, no matter what her age or what phase of her career she was in. Av's wardrobe consists of a lot of black and lots of menswear pieces, which she doctors and pairs with other, more ladylike items.

It's a style that is uniquely her own, that has grown with her and is one her fans lurve to copy.

In honor of her moving closer to the big 3-0, we look back, fondly, at her evolution from 'Sk8er Boi'-loving angsty teen to a lovely young woman (with a sassy scowl, of course) and a pop star with DNA-distinct taste.

We also have to say Av has the best hair in pop. It's perfectly glossy, sleekly straight and always gorgeous!
