Cali Swag District Member M-Bone Murdered in Drive-By Shooting

M-Bone, member of hip-hop group Cali Swag District, was tragically murdered last night in a drive-by shooting, TMZ reports.

The 22-year-old, born Montae Talbert, was outside a liquor store in Inglewood, Calif. last night when someone in a passing car fired shots in his direction, sources say. According to MTV, M-Bone was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead due to two gunshot wounds to the head.

While the murder of a hip-hop performer may recall echoes of Tupac and Biggie, police currently believe the killing was a random act of violence.

Bandmate Smoove Da General acknowledged the news on his Twitter page this morning, writing, "Ma life changed drastically in the blink of an eye, rip mbone." and "Thanx to everybody who had sumthin positive to say to me and for montae."

Cali Swag District is best known for their 2010 Top 10 rap single 'Teach Me How to Dougie.' Their debut album, 'The Kickback,' is planned for release sometime in 2011.
