It’s been ten years since indie heroes Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and Jimmy Tamborello, aka Dntel, teamed up for a side project called the Postal Service. Joined by Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, the group released a brilliant electropop album called ‘Give Up,’ went on a brief tour, and then went back to their original groups, leaving fans of the record aching for a reunion or follow-up album for a decade now.

Thankfully, the trio got back together to tour this year and will be one of the headliners for both Saturdays at Coachella. Since the group only played small clubs during its initial tour – few videos of their concerts are even available on YouTube – Coachella 2013 will be one of the first chances for most listeners to experience ‘Give Up,’ and possibly even a couple of new songs, in concert.

Thanks to earworms like ‘Such Great Heights’ and ‘The District Sleeps Alone Tonight,’ the Postal Service’s 2003 release ‘Give Up’ has become a cult favorite, selling more than a million copies despite never charting higher than No. 114.
