Two scenes that didn't make it into The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I were just released onto the web, and they give us some further insight into the movie that is particularly helpful if you haven't read the books.

The first deleted scene shows Katniss being made up to shoot her propaganda movies as District 13's symbol of the revolution. But the makeup artists go insanely heavy on the eyeshadow and blush, and Effie (played by the hilarious Elizabeth Banks) realizes this and stops them immediately. She says, "Stop! What are you savages doing? This is the face of a revolution, not some cave painting! Have you even ever met rouge?" She then takes matters into her own hands and begins to wipe Katniss' face clean, saying, "We're going to make this work. For you, for me and for Cinna."

The second clip shows Peeta, who was taken hostage by the Capitol at the end of Catching Fire, speaking (or being forced to speak) with President Snow. Snow tells Peeta that he is to be the Capitol's symbol, used against Katniss and her band of revolutionaries. The interesting part of this clip is we get a chance to see that Peeta was not always onboard when it came to helping out the Capitol. When Peeta says, "So you're asking me to be what, sir, your voice of reason?" Snow goes on to threaten him, saying, "You've understood everything but one small detail. I'm not asking."
