Celebrities Who Won’t Perform at Donald Trump’s Inauguration: Celine Dion, Elton John and More
The presidential inauguration is a pretty big deal, and it's an event that typically calls for a certain level of musical talent and fame from its performers—a level which matches the historical scope of the ceremony itself.
It's telling then, perhaps, that when it comes to Donald Trump's January 20 inauguration, A-list musicians aren't exactly clamoring to co-sign Trump's presidency with a sweeping ballad onstage — though inauguration committee chairman Tom Barrack promises it will feature "soft sensuality," whatever that means.
Music icons like Celine Dion, Elton John and Andrea Bocelli have already turned down offers to sing at the event, while stars like Idina Menzel and John Legend have expressed their scathing disinterest at even the most remote possibility of participating and The Chainsmokers were quick to clear up a rumor that they were on the bill.
