'Glee' explores the cultural phenomenon of twerking in their newest episode, 'The End of Twerk,' and boy is there a whole lot of twerking going on.

In an effort to get the New Directions to stand out at Nationals, Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) decides they need to rebel and has Kitty (Becca Tobin) and Jake (Jacob Artist) hold twerking lessons while an angry Sue (Jane Lynch) looks on.

Meanwhile, Rachel (Lea Michele), desiring something different in her life, gets a bob haircut to help her get out of her funk about Finn (Cory Monteith). This angers her 'Funny Girl' director Rupert (Peter Facinelli) because she did not get his approval. However, his opinion changes when he sees how the haircut completely transforms Rachel's performance of ‘You Are Woman, I Am Man’ with her co-star Paolo (Ioan Gruffudd).

No worries, though, Lea Michele fans. It turns out to be just a wig -- in both the show and in real life.

In order to continue her goal of destroying the Glee club, Sue goes on the news to talk about twerking, telling the audience that she will outlaw twerking in McKinley High as well as get a law passed to ban twerking in all public schools.

An angry Will rebels against Sue's ban by inviting the entire school to twerk in the hallways while he and the New Directions perform Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' which he believes is about metaphorically blurring lines. In response, Sue fires him for performing a sexually-charged dance to a song about date rape with minors -- decision he promises he will fight.

With her new-found rebellious confidence, Rachel convinces Kurt (Chris Colfer) to take a walk on the wild side with her and get tattoos. Not only that, but drink Limoncello and then get tattoos. Never a good idea.

The next day Kurt shares his brand-new ink, which accidentally reads "it's gets better," and Rachel admits she backed out and didn't get a tattoo at all. Even worse, Kurt finds out it was his fault the tattoo was so grammatically incorrect in the first place. In order to convince Kurt to keep on taking risks, said tattoo artist offers to fix it up for him.

Back in Lima, Unique (Alex Newell) is trying to use the men's bathroom while dressed as a girl when he's attacked by some jocks who throw his wig in the toilet. An upset Wade sings a somber and emotional version of 'If I Were a Boy' by Beyonce about the situation.

Instead of dealing with Unique's problem, Mr. Schuester puts on a presentation for the School Board about the evolution of banned dancing and poses that in 20 years, twerking will be viewed as "silly" and "nostalgic," asking them to reconsider their decision and be on the "right side of history."

Unique goes to Sue to personally request a unisex bathroom, but in usual Sue style, when she agrees it ends up being a cruel joke, and she bolts a purple porta potty covered in question marks in the glee club room.

To finally rectify the situation, Will has a heart to heart with Wade and gives him access to the unisex faculty bathroom. Sue says that she'll give Unique a key to that bathroom if Mr. S stops the kids from twerking. He refuses on the grounds that civil disobedience is a good thing, throwing a Sue Sylvester-style tantrum as he leaves.

And just to add another plot line into the mix, being the brand-new terrible Cheerio that she is, Bree tells Marley (Melissa Benoist) that after rejecting Jake's sexual advances in 'A Katy or a Gaga' that he went to Bree and they had sex. Marley confronts Jake, and, realizing that he did in fact cheat on her, she runs crying to the auditorium where she sings 'Wrecking Ball' by Miley Cyrus.

Continuing his rebellious streak, Kurt shows Rachel his newly-fixed tattoo, which now reads "it's got Bette Midler" and his brand-new tongue piercing, both of which he got to help him feel more alive in the wake of Finn's passing. When Kurt leaves, Rachel goes into the bathroom and lifts up her shirt, revealing a tattoo reading "Finn" on her ribcage.

Mr. Schuester announces the end of twerking for Wade's sake, and the kids agree to embrace who they are for Nationals. Cue the New Directions singing ‘On Our Way’ by the Royal Concept in the auditorium as Jake watches Marley sadly go off on her own.

Only time will tell if they patch things up next week in the Billy Joel-themed episode -- complete with special cameo by model Tyra Banks!
