Greyson Chance enlists fellow teen star Charice for a remix of his new single, 'Waiting Outside the Lines.'

Though Chance rose to fame with a viral cover of Lady Gaga's 'Paparazzi,' 'Waiting Outside the Lines' is by no means a novelty song. It's a soaring pop ballad, not unlike what David Cook or Christina Perri might record.

The singer passes on the wisdom he's gained in his 13 years on the planet:

"You’ll never enjoy your life living inside the box / You’re so afraid of taking chances, how you gonna reach the top? / Rules and regulations force you to play it safe / Get rid of all the hesitation, it’s time for you to seize the day"

It's strange to hear teenagers handing down life advice as if they're Baz Luhrmann, and the melody, though pleasant, is a bit formulaic. Both young performers can really sing, and that's what carries the track.

'Waiting Outside the Lines' appears on Chance's EP with the same name, which features the title track, the remix with Charice, an Augustana cover, and Chance's version of 'Paparazzi.'

The new single kicks off a busy holiday weekend for Chance, who performed on 'Good Morning America' yesterday, and takes part in the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday.
