Jay Sean debuted his latest video for current single ‘Tears in the Ocean’ -- and we totally love it. The serene video goes along perfectly with the apologetic, almost mournful tone of the song. As Jay sings "I dropped a tear in the ocean / And when they find it / That’s when I’ll stop loving you,” viewers see him serenading a woman by the ocean. It's an intimate video for what is undoubtedly a personal song. You can check it out above!

Coinciding with the release of the music video, Jay Sean also announced his official departure from Cash Money Records in an attempt to return to recording and releasing music independently. ‘Tears in the Ocean’ is set to appear on his upcoming mixtape entitled ‘Mistress II’ that is set to be released in November 2014.

In an exclusive interview with Billboard, Jay said his decision to leave Cash Money was simply due to the music he is interested in making now versus what the label is interested in, and that he harbors no ill will toward his former label: "I had and still maintain a great relationship with Slim and Baby [CEOs of Cash Money]. They believed in me and my talent and our partnership obviously garnered a lot of pop success."

Jay, however, is no longer interested in making the same kind of music, going on to say: "It got to the point where I was chasing pop success and 'the smash' when really my heart wasn't in it anymore. That's not why I got into this game.”

We're excited to see what Jay has in-store for us next! Be sure to check out his mixtape when it drops in November!
