Watch Jennifer Hudson Perform ‘I Can’t Let Go’ From ‘Smash’

Look out, Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty! Jennifer Hudson's voice soars in a clip from JHud's upcoming appearance on Season 2 of the Broadway-themed musical drama 'Smash.'

Hudson's character, Veronica “Ronnie” Moore, belts out 'I Can't Let Go,' a new tune written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who also penned the Grammy-nominated 'Let Me Be Your Star' for Season 1. The song is a huge, emotional ballad in the tradition of 'My Heart Will Go On' and 'Someone Like You' that gives Hudson a chance to flaunt her powerful pipes.

Watch for McPhee and Hilty, who play Karen and Ivy, singing backup for Hudson in the clip, which will reportedly air in episode four of the new season, which kicks off on NBC on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
