Jennifer Lopez Says Leonardo DiCaprio Was Super Chill About ‘Carpool’ Prank
If you've been waiting with bated breath to see how Academy Award-winner Leonardo DiCaprio would react to Jennifer Lopez and James Corden's televised "Carpool Karaoke" prank, well, exhale, because the superstar pop performer has revealed that things are all good between her and the actor.
In case you missed it, during an episode of The Late Late Show aired on March 29, while appearing on a special segment of Corden's much-beloved "Carpool Karaoke," the talk-show host commandeered the pop star's cell phone, sending DiCaprio an offbeat text asking him for suggestions on how to "cut loose" later in the evening, signing the message off with "J-Lo."
Amid protesting and fixing her earring, Lopez ultimately laughed it off, telling Corden she'd probably have to explain the text to DiCaprio at some point. However, both the singer and the host were shocked and tickled pink when the A-list actor texted back, and in quite a timely fashion, "You mean tonight, boo boo? Club-wise?"
Thankfully, the actor wasn't at all offended by the hijinks. While talking to Entertainment Tonight on March 31, the American Idol judge shared, "He was a great sport about it! I did have to explain it to him. I was like, 'So hey, this is what happened! I was with James Corden..."
And while J-Lo didn't actually end up going clubbing that night, the "First Love" singer noted that DiCaprio totally brushed the prank off, saying, "He's great, he's a friend. He's nice! He was totally like, 'Do whatever you want, I don't care!'"
Leonardo DiCaprio, everyone — Academy Award winner, environmentalist, former teen heartthrob, and very chill dude.
