John Legend and Common Win Best Original Song for ‘Glory’ at 2015 Oscars [VIDEO]
But before we get to the power that was the duo's unbelievable acceptance speech, we have to discuss the two presenters of the award: Idina Menzel and John Travolta. Because the world will never let Travolta forget the "Adele Dazeem" fiasco at last year's Oscars, Idina Menzel just had to pay him back with his very own Travolta-ized name flub -- and it was perfection.
But once John Legend and Common took to the stage to accept their Oscar, things got more serious as the men delivered one immensely powerful speech.
"The spirit of this bridge transcends race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and social status," Common said of the famed bridge in Selma, AL., that Martin Luther King, Jr. and his followers marched over for equal rights. "The spirit of this bridge connects the kid from the south side of Chicago dreaming of a better life to those in France standing up for their freedom of expression to the people of Hong Kong protesting for democracy. This bridge was built on hope, welded by compassion and elevated by love for all human beings."
Congratulations to John Legend and Common! Watch their emotional acceptance speech in the video above.
