Julia Michaels is no stranger to working with hip-hop artists. After teaming up with rapper DRAM for the Clean Bandit's "I Miss You (Remix)," the Iowa-native has now tapped up-and-coming star Trippie Redd for her latest single, "Jump."

The singer teased the song last weekend, announcing it would be released on May 4 but made no mention of Trippie Redd being featured on it. Produced by Nick Monson, "Jump" features a spacey instrumental as Michaels sings about being worried to jump into a relationship.

"And I'm gonna be cliché here for a minute/And tell you that I've been hurt before (hurt before)/So I think I'm gonna need another minute/To not hurt no more (no more)," she sings.

Trippie Redd comes in for the song's third verse, blending his rapping with his melodic singing. "Like a earthquake, yeah I'm dealing with another lil' heartbreak/Man I wish I'd never met you in the first place/And that karma's gonna get you in the worst way, yeah/Don't throw your love away," he raps.

Michaels is currently wrapping up her European tour, which finishes on May 12 in Lisbon, Portugal. Following that, the Nervous System singer will head back to the states to join Maroon 5 on their Red Pill Blues Tour. The treck kicks off on May 30 in Tacoma, Wash. and runs until Oct. 15.
