Justin Timberlake brought out country superstar Garth Brooks to perform Garth’s famous tune ‘Friends in Low Places’ during a recent Nashville show. The duet not only surprised -- not to mention totally elated -- his Nashville fans, but drove jealousy into the hearts of all those who could not be there to witness it themselves (read: us).

Halfway through Justin’s sold out show at the Bridgestone Arena, he said to the crowd (Quote via Jezebel): “This is the country music capital of the world, right?” as he began playing the opening chords to ‘Friends in Low Places,’ only to be met with an instant singalong from the audience. As though a cover of the song itself weren’t enough, Justin stopped playing and said, “Hold on, now. Something don’t feel right, Nashville. I mean, if you’re gonna do this… Garth?” And, well, you can probably guess what happened next.

The two launched into a superb cover of ‘Friends in Low Places,’ with Garth even singing an extra verse not found on the original recording that he usually only brings to live shows.

It’s no surprise that Justin has an affinity for country music, considering he was born in Memphis, and who better than to bring onstage than the country icon? Seeing the two onstage together was like a convergence of musical greatness, a true melding of musicality. In other words: We’re totally obsessed.
