Rumors are swirling that the long-awaited 'Watch the Throne' project between Kanye West and Jay-Z could be released digitally just four days from now, on July 4.

The Source reported earlier this month that the album would see a July 4 release, and that report has picked up steam. CyHi the Prynce, an artist on Kanye's G.O.O.D. label, told MTV, "They are ready to go. Right now, all the music and everything is done."

'Watch the Throne' was originally planned for an early 2011 release but has been pushed back as the rappers continued to work on new songs. A July 4 release would likely be digital only, a strategy that could help prevent unauthorized leaks of the material.

An unconfirmed tracklisting hit the web a few weeks back, suggesting that the record would feature 10 songs. Missing from that listing was 'H.A.M.,' the single released in January. Producer Swizz Beatz has said the album will be "worth the wait."

UPDATE: According to VH1, the record will NOT be dropping on July 4. Sources close to Jay-Z‘s management team confirmed that the rumored holiday release date is “not happening.”
