Lee DeWyze Gets Engaged to ‘Sweet Serendipty’ Actress Jonna Walsh

Lee DeWyze made his recent trip to Disney World extra magical when he proposed to his girlfriend Jonna Walsh. The Orlando, Fla. theme park has a special place in the model/actress' heart, which is why the 'American Idol' winner chose it for the big moment.

According to People, the 25-year-old singer popped the question on July 16 on a private yacht during the park's nightly fireworks display. "I'm excited," he tells the magazine, adding, "Jonna is a Disney freak."

While the Illinois native had rehearsed his proposal, it didn't exactly go as planned. "They were playing love songs on the boat and I got down on my knee and asked her," he explains. "I had a speech prepared but it all went out the window so I just asked her. She started crying and I said, 'Is that a yes?'" It was. The couple are currently planning a Fall 2012 wedding.

DeWyze and Walsh met Walsh last October while shooting a video for his first 'Live It Up' single, 'Sweet Serendipity.' He chose her during a casting because he thought she was "cute," and the two hit it off immediately.

The newly engaged couple have only been dating for eight months, but that didn't stop him from getting down on one knee. "When you know, you know," he says. "We both feel that way. We don't need to be together 20 years before we figure it out."
