Lil Playy is a rap newcomer and a protégé of veteran hitmaker Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. The Houston rhyme-spitter has already racked up some impressive writing credits so far, having penned hooks for Ludacris' Grammy-nominated song 'My Chick Bad,' and 'Twista's 'I Do.' He also wrote the hook and raps on 'Work It Man,' a track off Kelly Rowland's anticipated disc 'Here' I Am (in stores July 26).

So with Playy getting some attention behind the scenes, now is a great time to get him in front of the camera and introduce himself to his soon-to-be fans. His new video for his latest single 'Birthday Dress' will appear on his upcoming still-untitled EP, due out in the fall.

In this fun clip, we see Playy eyeing a hot girl at a house party that he wants to hook up with. When he eventually does, a celebration follows as the rapper snaps an impromptu photo shoot with her, rocks the mic onstage and dances the night away with his new ladylove. Yes, he is that multi-talented. After getting the girl, he quips: "I think I did good / Handclap / Now I need to keep her fresh / like Saran Wrap."

Rocker Matthew Koma comes through with the sexy chorus, "My baby wears a red dress like it's Christmas when she's hot for me / My heart sweats when she says, strip me down to my birthday dress, yeah / I'll strip you down to your birthday dress, yeah."

Lil Playy's 'Birthday Dress' video is a cool introduction to this young up-and-coming rapper. Expect to see more of this guy either in front of the camera or behind the scenes writing your favorite hook in a song.
