Monica Unveils New Album Release Date, Cover Art

Well, that was fast. After announcing that the release of her new album has been postponed, Monica has now unveiled the cover art and a new release date for her seventh LP 'New Life.' She didn't lie when she told fans on Twitter that her album was still in motion.

The 'Until It's Gone' singer has now penciled in Feb. 21, 2012 as the new release date for the project. She also plans to overhaul the album with new producers and songwriters. In addition, Monica unveiled the cover art, which features her beautiful profile.

The singer blamed the postponement on the recent restructuring of RCA Records, which involved shutting down her label, J Records, as well as Arista and Jive Records. “I wanna thank u for your love, dedication & support,” she said to her fans. “RCA & I are restructuring the entire plan for the album & the entire movement.”

According to reports, Monica will be releasing her album in the same month as her friendly rival Brandy. If you guys don't remember, the two songbirds appeared together on the 1998 Grammy-nominated song, "The Boy Is Mine." Coincidentally, they are also label mates on the same parent company, RCA Records.

It's good to see that Monica has finalized a release date and is moving forward with her new album. It's something we will definitely look out for in 2012.
